Characteristics
The Amazon River dolphin lives in a river that is pretty murky, but they are well adapted. The hairs on the snout of the dolphin help them navigate the river by feeling the bottom. The neck of the Amazon River dolphin is not fused, like other dolphins' necks, which allows them to see left and right as well as up and down. River dolphins live in murky water, which is why they have very keen eyesight and hearing. Amazon River dolphins are equipped with echolocation, which helps them find prey. Their teeth are cone-shaped, but they do have some molars near the back of their mouth to help chew tough things such as armored catfish.
